Why Chilam Loves Traveling With A “Less Is More” Approach

FANCL ambassador Chilam loves to take his mind off work and relax by traveling, but what else is there to do besides indulging in good food and retail therapy? He suggests taking a "Less Is More" approach to vacations.

We find out from Chilam what kind of “Less Is More Journey” does he most look forward to.

Chilam - “I want to experience what it’s like to work on a farm.”

Less of: Feeling Uninspired In The Cities
More of: Getting Closer To Nature

I travel around the world for work, but I hardly have time to properly explore a city. As such, when I'm finally on vacation, I like to leave the city with my family and get closer to nature.

I'd love to do something completely different from my current lifestyle, such as living on a farm abroad and helping the owner with chores and taking care of animals.

FANCL’s Recommended Destinations:

If you want to experience a short stay at a farm, you can visit the farms in Taiwan or rural Japan. If you're planning to stay for more than a week, there are farm stay experiences in Australia and New Zealand too!

Chilam - “I like exploring historical monuments and architecture.”

Less: Material Goods
More: Enjoyable Experiences

Many people like to shop and feast when they travel in big cities, but I prefer exploring and learning more about the local culture! There are plenty of major cities in the world that do a great job at cultural and historic preservations.

FANCL’s Recommended Destinations:

If you’re in Thailand and are looking for a cultural experience away from the city. If you have deeper pockets, European destinations like France and Italy are perfect for art and culture aficionados.

Chilan - “I love being active while travelling.”

Less of: a Sedentary Lifestyle
More of: a Fitness Boost

I enjoy challenging myself and I often dream of biking around the world. Being on two wheels allow you to explore the hidden alleys of the city or admire beautiful scenery in the countryside.

This is a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and it’s also a very rewarding experience.

FANCL’s Recommended Destinations:

Many people love to take biking trips in Taiwan. It’s not too far away and it’s a great way of interacting with friendly locals from the north to south, all in one trip!
